Our First Entry

Well, we decided to start a blog today after feeling inspired after a nice two weeks off from work and school. We'll see how good we are at keeping the blog updated - but always enjoy reading others blogs to keep up with what everyone is doing these days - so thought we would give it a try.

We had a great holiday vacation, spending the first weekend with Aran's extended family in Virginia at his aunt and uncle's house - celebrating Christmas a week early before we headed to Minnesota. We spent a week in Minnesota with Kristine's family - the second year of our rotational holiday schedule. We were able to spend some time with a few of our friends including Katie & Luke - who were 2 days overdue from their big day. Abe decided to come the day we were leaving, so we will have to see him via pictures until our next visit back. We also met Renee and Travis's beautiful little boys, Reed and Alex and spent some time catching up. We caught Corey and Stacey out for a drink, both getting a break from there little ones, and enjoyed a nice evening with Tammy and Jason who are nearing their big wedding date.

Aran helped with the typical electronic needs of the Ditlevson household, including installing a new TV with Kristine's brother. Her family finally updated to a new flat screen TV and blue ray disc player. Kristine learned how to knit over the holidays, having the desire to start a new hobby to feel a little domesticated.

It was a busy second week as well once we got back to New York. Matt and Erin stayed over with us for New Years Eve - and we celebrated with the two of them as well as Jared and Jamie with a nice dinner at Bloomingdale Road, a new spot on the UWS and some drinks back at our place. New Years we had friends over to pre-game before the Rose Bowl, where unfortunately Penn State went on to lose to USC.

Our last two days have been spent getting our lives back into a routine before heading back to work. We both have the typical New Years Resolution's to lose the weight we gained over the holidays, especially in Minnesota where Mrs. Ditlevson was constantly feeding us home cooked meals and treats!!
